2013, the Return of the Ride!

The bikes and this blog were greatly neglected last year. Work was very successful at the expense of play.

This year will be a more balanced life with plenty of both working hard and playing hard. None of this "all work" again.

I learned early in life from Dr. Seuss's book The Kings Stilts that a good life philosophy is "When the king worked, he really worked. And when he played, he really played". This book sits on my desk at Dunnigan Realtors as every now and then I pick it up and do a quick read of it.

All of my wonderful clients and the great properties that they want to buy or sell will have to wait for a couple hours today while my amazing wife and I go for a ride on The American River Trail!

October Ride

Went for a little ride in the great October weather.

Stopped at Crepe Escape on H and 57th for a light lunch on our way back into East Sac.

Life is good!

East Sac 4th of July Parade

My wife and I just enjoyed the East Sac 4th of July parade. We took our bike out and had a nice slow ride with hundreds of other East Sac neighbors.

I love this neighborhood!

American River Trail First Ride of the Year!

We took our five wheeled tandem recumbent bike out for the first ride of the year. Last year we didn't get in very much ridding and maybe we should have started out with a lighter ride, but Cheryl was inspired and I didn't resist. We cranked out 30 miles today on the American River Bike Trail.

The first 13 we felt great and strong. At mile 15 we had a lunch break in one of the many parks to regain our energy and then started the ride back home. Somehow, we didn't regain our energy. The ride home was a bit of a slow grind. We are both very sore now and I think tomorrow will be worse...

It was well worth it. We got to see lots of great wildlife and had a wonderful day of it. Go to my main blog at http://east-sac.blogspot.com/2012/04/american-river-trail-first-ride-of-year.html to see the pictures (having trouble uploading them here and too tired to worry about fixing it).

Now to order delivery for dinner. To tired to do anything else...

What was that thing?
Was it a bicycle, a tricycle, a pentacycle?
Who were those grinning riders on it?
Did they make it themselves?
Where can I get one?
How does it work?

Hopefully this site will answer most of the questions you have about that 5 wheeled cycle you saw cruising around East Sacramentoor on the American River Trail. If it brings up new questions you can always contact us.

We love our bikes and are happy to talk about them!
